Ayurveda is an alternative branch of
medicine that had originated in the Indian Subcontinent. As it is gaining
popularity in the western world, the need for Ayurvedic Practitioner also arises. Now-a-days, there are different
schools that offer courses on ayurveda which could be taken both online and
offline. As you all might be aware,
ayurveda is a holistic medicine that treats the person as a whole and not just
the disease. Ayurveda also helps the people to live in harmony with nature through
Ayurvedic Herbal Supplements, nutrition,
meditation and daily routines.
One who wants to specialise in ayurveda
needs to understand that the body is made of three doshas i.e. vata, kapha and
pitta. So the practitioner needs to understand the dosha of the patients and
treat the imbalances in them accordingly. For you to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner, you need to be
qualified in it though in US it is not approved and teach you only fundamentals
of the same. It is ideal for you to enrol in India, the country of origin, in
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Doctor of Ayurvedic
Medicine and Surgery (DAMS) and it will take five years to complete the
training and on completion you can start your practice. You also have the
option of teaching ayurveda to public, conduct seminars and can even teach at
the ayurvedic schools.

Herbal Supplements come both as home remedies as
well as the prescription medicine. For home remedies, it is easy to take and
not a problem. But while taking as a herbal supplement, it should be taken
under the advice of the certified medical practitioner and you should also be
knowing about its composition.
